Community Connections

Through Community Connections COBYS Family Services employs a team approach to empower individuals and families to gain personal responsibility, self-sufficiency, and restored dignity. This program serves participants who are motivated to achieve greater independence and are open to accountability as they work toward reaching their goals.

COBYS partners with churches, schools, and community organizations to help individuals or families to address financial, mental health, relational, and other needs. Drawing upon available community resources, the Community Connections team helps participants develop short-term, achievable goals that promote greater independence within six months. Members of the team include a COBYS Navigator, the Partner Organization, an Ally, and the Participant, who may be an individual or family. The success of the process is dependent upon cooperation from participants and collaboration with the team.

The ultimate goal of Community Connections is to empower participants to restore relationships with God, self, others, and their community. To learn more, contact us at connections@cobys.org.

Meeting the needs of special needs children can be difficult but also rewarding as we see the progress they make: learning to talk, strengthening leg muscles, learning what foods to feed them to gain weight, and seeing them get well when they are sick.
