Help COBYS Family Services provide compassionate care to children and families at risk by contributing to us during the Lancaster County Community Foundation’s ExtraOrdinary Give on Friday, November 20, 2020. Click here to visit the COBYS ExtraGive page.
COBYS will participate with more than 500 other nonprofits in Lancaster County’s largest day of giving. Last year over $10.5 million was donated and COBYS received over $61,000.
The logistics are the same as previous years. All donations are made online through the ExtraGive.org website between 12:00 midnight and 11:59 p.m. on Friday, November 20. Simply enter “COBYS” in the search box at the top of the page, click on our logo and give a donation of $10 or more.
Every dollar donated will be stretched with more than $500,000 from the Community Foundation, Rodgers & Associates, The S. Dale High Family Foundation, and other community partners. The stretch fund is distributed proportionally to the amount each organization raises.
On top of the stretch fund, additional prize money is awarded throughout the day. During specific time periods, individual donations will be randomly selected. If a COBYS donor is chosen, the foundation will add prize money to that donation.
COBYS again is seeking friends to give at the stroke of midnight to earn one of the $500 Early Bird prizes offered to the first 20 organizations to reach 50 “unique donors.” (A unique donor is a unique name and unique credit card number, so a couple can give two unique donations, so long as they use different credit cards.) COBYS has earned this prize each year so far, but the competition is growing more intense.
This year we will host two giving stations to spread COBYS’ message of Christian service and receive donations. From 10 am-2:00 pm, we will join with our partners at Brethren Village to host a giving station in the lobby at the Wolfe Auditorium and one in the Game Room at Fieldcrest. Give to the organization(s) of your choice and receive a whoopie pie as a thank you gift. Laptops and staff to assist you will be available at both Brethren Village locations. If you are not a Brethren Village resident, please follow the signs on campus to complete a COVID screening before coming to a giving station.
