Depending on your circumstances, planned giving may offer financial or tax advantages while allowing you to provide for the people and causes that matter most to you
Planned Giving Opportunities
Wills & Trusts
A charitable bequest is a reflection of your faith, values, and priorities, and can make a lasting impact that continues for many years after your passing. You may designate a specific amount, percentage of your estate, or other assets to COBYS.
Retirement Assets
You may name COBYS as a full or partial beneficiary of an IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or other eligible retirement account. Starting at age 70 1/2, you can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your IRA. At 73, you can make a QCD as part of your required minimum distribution (RMD) each year.
Gifts of Appreciated Securities
Donating appreciated stocks or other securities (donor advised funds) directly to COBYS may offer tax advantages while making a meaningful contribution to our mission.
Charitable Remainder Trusts
A charitable remainder trust can provide income to you or designated beneficiaries for a specified period, with the remaining assets ultimately supporting COBYS.
Charitable Gift Annuities
A charitable gift annuity may allow you to make a charitable gift while receiving fixed payments for life. Contact COBYS to learn about available options and eligibility.
