    I deliberately concentrate on doing something about situations I am in.
    I avoid using drugs or alcohol to make myself feel better or to get me through.
    I try to look for good or positive parts of things that happen in my life.
    When I face a problem, I think through all my options to solve it.
    I try to think less about the negatives in life and distract myself by doing positive activities.
    I know that it's okay to say "no" to my peers when I feel uncomfortable about a situation.
    I reach out for emotional support from others when I need it.
    When I have negative feelings, I can talk about these feelings in an appropriate way.
    It is better not to be in a relationship at all than it is to be in a relationship that is abusive.

Our original intention was to only foster and not to adopt, but we have grown to love our foster daughters and have decided to adopt them, if that is what is needed. The greatest joy is seeing our children become secure and happy, learning about God and the world around them. – COBYS Resource Parents
